crafty: cute outfit recycling!

The most annoying thing about Sebastian being such a big boy is that he outgrew all his cute itty-bitty-baby outfits pretty much immediately.  He outgrows everything pretty much immediately, actually.
Here's the solution.  I went to Happy Dayz up the street, got some inexpensive white onesies (size XL for 9-12  month olds, sheesh), and then took the cute themes from some of my favorites and sewed them on.  Instant cute new wardrobe with themes from the past!

uh oh (garden related)

We were moving some things around and I found this box hiding under the wardrobe -- tulip bulbs.  I thought I'd planted them all.  Guess not.  The ground is frozen solid, but maybe containers?

Can you force tulips?  I've never forced any bulb.  Help!

Breaking news! Sebastian has feet!

This past week, it's been all about feet.

Who knew feet could be so exciting?

And they're right there, every time he checks!

Four months: graphed

Doc says:  he's still a big baby
28.1 inches and 18.2 pounds, head circumference 43.1 cm.  Here's what his height and weight look like graphed since birth (the red dots):

Top chart is height -- he's consistently above the 97th percentile, following the curve.  Lower chart is weight.  There he is catching up quickly -- and he has chubbed up a bit.  But when you look at the height/weight chart (not here), 28 inches and 18 pounds is right smack in the 50th percentile range.  We don't need a chart to tell us that -- he doesn't look that roly poly.

(OK, yes, I'm a dork)

Steve went to Target...

Steve went to Target, because our sick baby didn't have enough jammies that fit him.  He came home with these:
"They're mod," he said. "He's the coolest baby in Brooklyn."
Dapper.  Very confident in his masculinity.

Poor little guy.  This was Sunday.

Busy

Lots of things to grab and shake.
And of course there is the constantly running drool faucet.

In which he stares down the giraffe

This one cracks me up.

happy new year

I tried to think of a pithy, inspirational new years quote, or something, to go with this picture. I keep coming back to "We will bury you." You can't deny the resemblance.
