Spring!

Baby!   (Look how well he's sitting up! For a few seconds anyway).
Daffodils!
80 degree temps and it's a sneak preview of how I plan on spending the summer.  Backyard, blanket on the grass.

Someone is already planning on eating lots of bugs, or whatever it is that boys do.  Once he can figure out how to get those arms and legs moving together so that he goes forwards, not backwards.

This baby.  Regardless if he was up screaming all night, smiles and coos and flirts with the neighbors.  My boy, he knows how to charm 'em, that's for sure.
Meanwhile, returning to the garden (like how I sneak it in here, amidst the baby pictures?) ... the Viburnum is full on leafy, and some of the tulips are already blooming in front.  (Not in back).
Even the wallflower, planted from Seattle seed last year (and which never bloomed last year), has some little flowers on those scrappy bushy stems.  And if you look carefully, you'll see in the background Steve's nemesis.

Finally! Daffodil.

First one bloomed Saturday!  That's April 3 for the "early blooming daff bulbs", if you're keeping track at home.

Yes, despite my best efforts, seemingly last in the neighborhood.  Now they're coming out all gangbusters.

Meanwhile:  Sebastian's tree is among those with buds about to pop.

And the hellebore.  It is so hidden back there.

Solids: progress report

Other than full blown enthusiasm for sitting in the high chair in general, here's how it's going on the solid foods front.  Warning:  if you don't think pictures of babies with food all over their face is cute, move right along.

Sweet potato!
Pear!
Strawberries!
Green beans (boo hiss)
Yogurt!
Avocado!
Mango!
